Can I get involved in the MALT project?

Definitely! We count on you to test the selected applications. Your feedback is very important to validate the choices made by the MALT Technical Coordination Group.

How can I help?

Those users interested in trying the applications, please check the Alternatives page. It contains the available applications ready for testing with links to documentation. Users are invited to install these applications and give feedback using the existing communication channels. We are very much interested in user’s feedback, so please, do not hesitate to report any issues or share your experience with the rest of the community.

In which communication channels should I report incidents or requests?

Please, check the Alternatives page to understand which applications are available for users and which ones are the associated communication channels. Since in most cases MALT alternatives are on a pilot phase or pre-production state, we encourage users to report in Mattermost or Discourse as the main communication channels. However, users can also open an incident or a request in the corresponding ServiceNow Functional Element (SNOW FE) if they are used to SNOW and don’t want to register to Mattermost or Discourse. In any case, the relevant MALT task members will be happy to follow up with you.

Mattermost or Discourse?

Some MALT Tasks have set up both Mattermost and Discourse channels. Mattermost is intended for instant communication. In case you have a quick question, like a clarification, it is probably the right channel to use. If you want to report about your user experience or you are looking for technical advice from the community, then Discourse is the right channel to use, as the topic you create will be available in the future and can be useful material to other users experiencing similar problems or looking for similar advice.

How can I keep up to date?

We have created an Updates page describing all the existing communication channels where there are updates about the MALT project. It is not mandatory to join Mattermost or Discourse as there are other ways to keep up to date.

I would like to suggest a particular application, where can I report this?

In the Coordination page there is information about the different MALT Tasks. You can get in touch with the Task members and give feedback. Please, note that for most areas, alternatives applications have been already evaluated and studied for several months by a team of IT experts. We welcome your feedback in any case!
